Wu Tingfang (* 1842 in Singapore, † 23 June 1922) was a Chinese diplomat and politician who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and briefly as Acting Premier during the early years of the Republic of China.
He is also known under his Cantonese name Ng Choy.
Wu studied at the Anglican St. Paul's College, in Hong Kong where he learned to read and write English. After serving as an interpreter in the Magistrate's Court from 1861 to 1874,[1] marrying Ho Miu-ling (sister of Sir Kai Ho) in 1864, he studied law in England atUniversity College London and was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn (1876).
Wu became the first ethnically Chinese barrister in history. After being called to the bar in England, he returned in 1877 to practise law in Hong Kong. Later, Wu became the first ethnically Chinese Unofficial member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (appointed 1880).

伍廷芳(1842年~1922年),本名叙,字文爵,又名伍才,号秩庸,后改名廷芳
。汉族,广东新会西墩人,清末民初杰出的外交家、法学家。伍廷芳祖籍广东新会,出生于新加坡,3岁随父回广州芳村定居,早年入香港圣保罗书院,1874年自费留学英国,入伦敦学院攻读法学,获博士学位及大律师资格,成为中国近代第一个法学博士,后回香港任律师,成为香港立法局第一位华人议员。 洋务运动开始后,1882年进入李鸿章幕府,出任法律顾问,参与中法谈判、马关谈判等,1896年被清政府任命为驻美国、西班牙、秘鲁公使,签订近代中国第一个平等条约《中墨通商条约》。主持修订法律,提出了包括删除酷刑、实行陪审和律师制度等一系列先进主张。
1917年發生「府院之爭」,伍廷芳反對加入協約國,並提出辭職,段祺瑞被黎元洪解除職務後,伍廷芳一度出任代理國務總理。後來黎元洪迫於張勳的壓力,要伍簽署解散國會的命令,伍拒絕,辭職。應孫中山的號召,南下廣州,出任護法軍政府的外交部部長。1919年,任廣東省省長及後一路追隨孫中山。
